Synesthesia - synesthete
is the neurological phenomenon in which a sensory perception unintentionally also evokes one or more other sensory impressions. Although it is not uncommon for sensory perceptions to have mutual influence, in synesthesia this is so strong that, for example, colors are tasted or sounds are seen. There is also the so-called mirror touch synesthesia, in which the same physical pain is experienced when one sees someone else in physical pain. This property of the brain occurs in relatively few people. These perceive several types of impulses at the same time, even if they are in fact generally generated by other senses.
